HU SHAOMING

His journey began not just with clay, but with a deep inquiry into the relationship between mechanical civilization and nature.

DREAM

In my dream, nature is a pure creature slumbering underwater. While she remains beautiful, her heart is being eroded by the cold encroachment of steel. When she eventually sinks, the glittering cities we rely on will vanish into nothingness.DREAM is a visual vigil for our Earth—a call to reawaken our environmental consciousness before everything resets to zero.

THE SHELTER

Materials: Stainless Steel, Found Objects  Dimensions: 180cm x 180cm x 130cm

THE SHELTER

Under the rule of cold steel and modernity, ancient Chinese heritage lies dormant. By crafting an ancient pavilion city from over 30,000 mundane objects—buttons, lids, and industrial parts—Hu Shaoming rediscovers the "Feng Shui Compass" of our culture. This Shelter is a monumental metaphor for preservation: a sanctuary protecting the spiritual essence of tradition from the relentless encroachment of the modern age.

Following its debut, The Shelter earned widespread acclaim and was honored with the premier nomination in the Emerging Artist category at the CCTV National Sculpture Competition.

As the exhibition’s centerpiece, the work was prominently showcased at the entrance of the CCTV Grand Hall. Recognizing its profound cultural value, the masterpiece was permanently acquired by the national broadcaster (CCTV) for its headquarters in Beijing.
